Poem by : Manashi Gogoi
Translated by: Nabin Kaman
The rain is falling with a tinkle
The Rajkanya dances in exhilaration
the fairytale of the Rajkanya sinks into the mind
with the rhythm of dance.
The forks of the branches are getting drenched,
and the Rajkanya is drenched in
the rain.
How pleasant it is to think of
think of this.
Sad images are beheld,
and they deeply hurt in sorrow.
Even then,
the Rajkanya…!
Why am I bewildered
by a shower of rain?
Do I love only the illusion
of an illusion?
To play in bewildered dreams,
have the bottles of all demons been corked?
Have all cheats been captivated?
Nothing worked to cheer every one
in everyone’s dream
Yet the rain tinkles,
why does it fall,
why does it fall,
the Rajkanya?
